Barbuda is a wonderful escape about 30 miles due North of Antigua, Barbuda is almost just a flat white beach tropical coral island at around seventy square miles in area.
One of the main reasons people come to Barbuda island is to visit the Frigate bird sanctuary, as well as beach combing and fishing. There is a large amount of scuba diving and snorkeling to be had around this area, as there are a number of shipwrecks, some within normal diving depths, and in crystal clear bath water temperature water. Perfect.
It takes roughly 3 hours by boat to reach Barbuda island from Antigua, but you can also hop on a small plane which will take you a much shorter 20 minutes.
